The latest archeological studies showed pottery products first appeared in Ninh Binh about 8,000 - 9,000 years ago, considered the earliest of its kind in the region and in the world. Being awared of the value of precious heritages, in the past years, Ninh Binh has paid special attention to archeological studies and put forth practical solutions to preserve and promote the value of ancient pottery village in Bach Lien hamlet, Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan on May 25 visited Bo Bat Pottery Cooperative and Man Bac archaeological site in Yen Thanh commune of Yen Mo district.

Tours of craft villages have attracted an increasing number of visitors as they help them to experience production activities and traditional culture, and buy typical products. This is seen as a big opportunity for local traditional craft villages to make the best of their potential in combination with developing tourism, thereby increasing economic efficiency.

Gia Thuy commune, Nho Quan district, in northern Ninh Binh province, is home to the famous nearly 60-year-old pottery village, which has been preserving traditional cultural values well while helping its local people to earn incomes as well.
